Prince Edward Island Branch (CPF PEI)
Science & Heritage Fairs
Provincial Science Fair
Science Fairs have been active for over 25 years. Thousands of students participate in the program with approximately 200 selected to participate in the Provincial Science Fair usually held in Charlottetown in April. Out of these displays 6 are selected to represent PEI at the Canada wide Science Fair.
In the past years CPF PEI has supported the Science Fair project with donations towards the display with a French component. For more information on rules, guidelines and winners visit this link.
The Heritage Fair is designed to provide an avenue for students to showcase the results of their display efforts to the community and encourage them to show/tell stories and share information about Canadian heroes, events and lifestyles of the past. It also provides students with the opportunity to discover their culture and heritage and to learn more about the history of our Island. CPF PEI offers a prize to the student display with a French component to it and also supports by recruiting bilingual judges.
Approximately 300 students from across PEI participate; about 65 judges are required overall. There are about 15 French related displays.
Canadian Parents for French also supports by recruiting bilingual judges for these events.
